To explain at least a small part of my attitude to art, I will paraphrase the great Man Ray: „Which I can not paint, describe or photograph. And vice versa. But my heart is in painting…”
With my works, I go back to where Kandinsky, Malevich, Mondrian (1872-1944), Max Ernst, and other „brothers” went, trying to recall what they were, to share their preconceptions, to if not the world, at least your thoughts and feelings. In colors.
I am an encaustic artist and visual designer from Bulgaria. I live and work in Seattle, WA.
Wax creates space. It can be smooth like glass and rough like rocks. It is not passive. It demands a response, touch, reflection. A mixture of beeswax and damar resin is the medium for encaustic painting. I use different colors and alter the base by applying joint compound, plaster, burnt glue. Sometimes I use paper and ink transfer
